The Nurses run a number of clinics and appointments for these are made via the receptionists.
Well Woman & Family Planning Clinic
Runs twice weekly at the Chepstow surgery and
deals with cervical smears, and contraception.
There is a midwife run weekly clinic in both our Chepstow and Sedbury Surgeries.
Child Health & Immunisation Clinic
Baby clinics operate weekly at both our Chepstow and Sedbury surgeries. These are run by the Health Visitors in conjunction with the Practice Nurses and a Doctor.
Operates exclusively for patients travelling abroad, it provides up to date travel health advice, and immunisations. Some of which are available on the NHS, and some which attract a fee outside the NHS. Details of fees are posted in the reception area.
Phlebotomists are people trained to draw blood and the Practice employs Isobel who is a phlebotomist to take blood tests for you when you may need them.
Health Care Assistant Appointments
Linda, Maddie & Tracy are Health Care Assistants (HCA’s) working in the Practice their duties include phlebotomy, giving some immunisations, blood pressure checks, ECG’s, spirometry, dressings urinalysis and well person checks. They may even contact you at home to invite you for various tests or to arrange appointments for routine clinics.

Routine Health Checks
Routine health checks can be booked with the nurses.
- All patients newly registered with the Practice can request a routine health check with the nurses
- For patients over 75 a health check can be requested annually
- For those patients under 75 a health check can be requested every 5 years.
